Dear Parents,
Jacket Racket is a volunteer organization with the goal of ensuring that every child from Kindergarten to Grade 12 has a warm winter coat to wear to school. 90% of donations come from schools. The jackets are then distributed to children in schools where there is a need. This year we are inviting our students and parents to participate in a coat drive for Jacket Racket.  They accept gently used warm winter coats, snow pants, hats and mittens for all ages. Often whole families are outfitted, so any size is welcome.

A box will be set up in the Embassy for collection from October 10, 2017 to October 24, 2017
We encourage you to generously support this worthy project.

It is a great opportunity to help students who may be less fortunate.

Thank you for your support.

Most students came home today with a new book from the library! Our book exchange day is every Tuesday - please support your child in returning their book each week so they can get new books each Tuesday.

Today we talked about using the Goldilock Rule to choosing a book. We discussed how sometimes we want to pick books that our families can read to us, but if we're learning how to read, it might be a good idea to pick a book that we can read! This is also our opportunity to choose any book in the library that interests us.

What is the 5 Finger Test?

Today we introduced magnets to the students.

We began by watching a quick Brain Pop Jr video that outlined a few key points.

They shared some key vocabulary terms such as attract, repel, north pole, south pole, poles, magnetic field. Click on the pictures below

We then went on a magnetic search! See us explore here....

Please work through these questions with your child over the next week...
