Today we read the story The Action of Subtraction! Students had the task of listening for different words that describe the word 'subtraction'. Here is the web of words we heard! We also shared with a partner our own definition of subtraction: ask your child what they think!

We also practiced demonstrating the base ten strategy for subtraction. Here is an example of what we did. Please have your child demonstrated base ten subtraction with the following questions at home:

1.  52 - 8 = 

2.  46 - 9 = 

3.  43 - 28 =

We had an AMAZING day yesterday at the National Music Centre. Students engaged in various musical activities and explored music from different regions of Canada. A HUGE thank you to each of our volunteers - without your support, we would not be able to go!

Money as students will not be allowed to buy snacks or toys

Volunteers please sign into the office and wait in the Embassy until our volunteer meeting takes place at 8:20. Please note that the National Music Centre does not allow any coffee mugs or liquids other than water throughout the exhibits.
